Skipton Music Festival continues to thrive…\u00a0 \u00a0Behind the scenes, we have seen a significant change in the organising committee.\u00a0 The Secretary and her admin sidekick are preparing for a well-earned retirement, the Treasurer has passed over the keys to the safe and several new members are bringing fresh ideas and energy to the Festival.<\/p>\n
On the surface, we hope that there are no alarming changes!\u00a0 The main Festival runs from Saturday 7th March to Saturday 14th March.<\/strong>\u00a0 Like last year, legislation is restricting what we can do during school time, so we will be using the full eight days, possibly including Sunday afternoon and evening.\u00a0 We are pleased to say that our regular “Final Saturday” concert will take place and all classes will be held in Christ Church.<\/p>\n Our adjudicator will be Christina Thomson<\/strong> and we’re delighted to welcome back our regular accompanist Tim Kennedy<\/strong>, though some classes may use a different, but similarly accomplished pianist.<\/p>\n As well as the main Festival, we are repeating the hugely successful SongShop <\/strong>in November.\u00a0\u00a0 This is a day for junior schools to come together and to join into a single choir, under the inspired leadership of Steven Roberts.\u00a0 This will take place on Friday 7th November 7th at Christ Church with Steven Roberts.\u00a0 Participating schools should already have this in their diaries.<\/p>\n You are strongly encouraged to book online – and you can pay online too.\u00a0\u00a0 When you come to Christ Church in March, we’ll also have a card reader available for all of our Front of House transactions.\u00a0 This year, we are hoping to minimise cash transactions – so please bring your card (or mobile app) with you!<\/p>\n We’ve updated quite a lot of our syllabus on the online booking scheme which has proved to be quite easy and intuitive.\u00a0 You can’t actually make any entries till the Syllabus is finalised but you can make a start!\u00a0 Visit our Bookings page at playandperform.co.uk\/skipton<\/a> where you can register yourself and have a look around.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" We’re 104 years old!
