{"id":740,"date":"2025-10-22T09:00:28","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T08:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/skiptonmusicfestival.co.uk\/?page_id=740"},"modified":"2025-10-22T09:02:06","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T08:02:06","slug":"team","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/skiptonmusicfestival.co.uk\/index.php\/team\/","title":{"rendered":"The Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A quick glance at &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/skiptonmusicfestival.co.uk\/index.php\/run-a-festival\/\">How to run a Festival<\/a>&#8221; will show some of the many jobs that need to be addressed.<\/p>\n<p>Many of these are looked after by members of the <strong>Committee<\/strong>, under the chairmanship of <strong>Richard Barlow.<br \/>\n<\/strong>We meet about 6 times a year and we are always on the lookout for new members of this key body.\u00a0 You will have jobs to do &#8211; but they are not arduous.<br \/>\nTo enquire about this, mail secretary@skiptonmusicfestival.co.uk or ask any committee member.\u00a0 Contact details for the committee officers <a href=\"https:\/\/skiptonmusicfestival.co.uk\/index.php\/contact-us\/\">are on the Contacts page<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Richard Barlow, Sheila Burman, Anita Lockyer, Kate Isaac, Fiona Smith, Sue Watkiss, Helen Wray, Chris Wright, Jill Wright<\/h4>\n<p>During the Festival, we need lots of <strong>Stewards<\/strong>.<br \/>\nAt any one session, we need around six folk to welcome, to assist the adjudicator, to look after the performers on stage &#8211; or even just make some coffee!\u00a0 With about 18 sessions to staff, that&#8217;s around 100 slots to fill!\u00a0 Many people do several stints and the Air Cadets are a great help but we always have space for those who would like to give a hand; maybe just for a morning or an afternoon.\u00a0 Again, email secretary@skiptonmusicfestival.co.uk<\/p>\n<p>There are several people who help us <strong>Financially<\/strong>.\u00a0 Without them, we could not survive.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is a small group of <a href=\"https:\/\/skiptonmusicfestival.co.uk\/index.php\/friends\/\"><strong>Friends<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 That involves no great commitment of time and for their contribution, they get free entry to Festival events and a programme.<\/li>\n<li>There are <strong>Advertisers<\/strong>.\u00a0 Advertisements in the programme put your name in front of a very sympathetic audience.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sponsors<\/strong> go a step further.\u00a0 For their extra contribution, we display their logos on the platform and in the foyer as well as printing their advert and a &#8220;thank you&#8221; in the programme.\u00a0 Visit here to <a href=\"https:\/\/skiptonmusicfestival.co.uk\/index.php\/sponsors-and-advertisers\/\">find out more about advertising or sponsoring<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A crucial part of the whole process is, of course, <strong>you!\u00a0<\/strong> Whether you are a performer, bringing your skills or a parent\/carer, encouraging (and transporting!) your musicians or one of the group of dedicated teachers who are the bedrock of the amazing quality of music-making that we see at the Skipton Festival, without you, we would be nothing.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A quick glance at &#8220;How to run a Festival&#8221; will show some of the many jobs that need to be addressed.
