The 2022 Festival

We’re 100 years old!

The Skipton Music Festival was launched in 1922 in the heady post-war days – and has (with a few breaks) run annually ever since.  We are proud and delighted to have reached the Venerable 3-Digit age.

To celebrate this,we are arranging a very special Final Concert.  In a break from our tradition, this will take place on the Sunday following the Festival (13th March).

Why?  Because the amazing Jess Gillam is joining us!  Jess is passionate about the way that festivals such as ours encourage children and others to take part in music and performance.  She is not only an internationally acclaimed sax player but she will engage with and inspire our own Festival Family.

It goes without saying… of course a major star like Jess doesn’t come cheap – but we have secured funding from the Arts Council to cover the cost of Jess Gillam (and her amazing accompanist, our very own Nicole Johnson who will not only be accompanying Jess Gillam but also many of the performers through our week-long Festival!

We have prepared a Centenary Syllabus that contains all the best of the old as well as several new items.  Download it from here: 2022 Full Syllabus

If you want to print the syllabus as a booklet, you may find it better to download this version: 2022 Full Syllabus imp where the pages are set out for you in “printer’s pairs”.

In this digital age, and to conserve our scarce resources, the Syllabus is primarily delivered electronically.  A limited number of printed paper copies is available.  If you would like a copy, then visit this page for details.
