Lining up for next week…

Just a few days to go!

We’re all lined up at the start line!  Do come along to hear some inspirational music-making next week.

Each day of the Festival has its own special flavour and here is a summary of what you can expect:.

Monday 9th March

After some setting up in the morning, the Festival starts after lunch with piano classes (Years 6-8) and a sole trumpet performance. In the evening we’ll hear the Open Non-competitive classes for ensembles and the more experienced.

Tuesday 10th March

Our youngest pianists start the day and after lunch we add a couple of guitar and string solos. In the evening piano accordion solos take to the stage, followed by the maestros of Years 12 and 13 pianists, playing solo and duet pieces.

Wednesday 11th March

A day of song! There are no classes in the morning and we start after lunch with vocal solos and grow to a climax in the evening with three Songs from the Shows classes.

Thursday 12th March

Today we have a feast of recorders. Solos, duets, groups and ensembles will delight until, towards the close of the day, we enjoy the open (adult) mixed ensemble classes. (One or two other classes are put in today to minimise travelling.)

Friday 13th March

A really rather special day! In the morning the Early Years classes gather to sing together. They are followed by three organists and some school ensembles. In the afternoon the church fills with school choirs and some other solo instrumental classes. The prestigious Recital Classes are held in the evening where we will expect to hear some of the very best musicianship of the Festival.

Saturday 14th March

Saturday starts off with our adult singers. Soloists open the show then choirs will take to the stage in the later afternoon.

The Gala Concert

In the evening (7:00pm) we crown a week of music-making with the Gala Concert where we will hear a superb parade of all that has been best during the week.
