Local information – and how to find us
Christ Church is the large and obvious church on your left as you drive into Skipton from Keighley. See the map below.
There is a narrow one-way street (Cross Street) beside the church but there is no parking available on Cross Street.
There is a car park nearby off Cavendish Street. This leads from Keighley Road at a set of traffic lights, just past the Tesco petrol station (if you are travelling north). Drive past the large Tesco superstore and the entrance is on the right. This car park fills up quite rapidly and so may be full.
There is a certain amount of street parking on the east side of the A6131 (Keighley Road) – and there are two large car parks a little further away – one behind the Town Hall off the High Street and one on Coach Street. This latter is both cheaper and nearer than the Town Hall car park.
If you are using public transport, the bus station is just across the canal from Christ Church. There’s a footbridge to keep your feet dry. The railway station is on Broughton Road, past Morrison’s Supermarket.
If you are in need of lunch (or other refreshment!) we can warmly recommend the “Railway” pub. That is a few moments’ walk from the west end of the church (go down the pathway and turn left) and offers a good variety of bar food. Snacks and sandwiches etc are, of course, available at Tesco, just across the way from the Railway.
